Madonna

I just read an article that was polling its readers about whether they would see an exhibit opening in London next month regaling Madonna's garb over the last fifty years. Just click the proper box, or leave your comments below.
My first thought was "hey, a great way to fill space if you can't find anything to write about!" I then thought it was a neat idea, though I had originally gone to this blog to see about catching a glimpse of the exhibit itself.

Well, I guess that gave away my answer.
Madonna has proven over and over her skill at marketing the one thing she has relied on most-herself. Say what you will about whatever she has done, you have to admit that her mainstay has been the ability to get people to talk. About her, about her issues, dress, etc. etc.

And yes, I sound repetitive. Because it has all been said before. But that hasn't stopped our fascination with this woman who, like Cher, has acheived that one-name recognition. Heck, with all the work she's had done , Madonna and Cher are starting to LOOK alike-at least in the face.
Perhaps they both had the same doctor.....

But I think the idea of an exhibit is fabulous. And in her adopted country, too.

The Wackness is Dope

I recently saw the movie The Wackness, the modernised coming-of-age film. I've read a couple of the reviews, and I must, say, NAUGHTY NAUGHTY.
Early on, I was bewildered. What insanity is this? A taste of barter society? I've done some barterihttp://www.slashfilm.com/wp/wp-content/images/thewackness1.jpgng myself, but....
Enough said.
Combine this wit of a concept with the typical insanity of life in New York, and you have a perfectly wrapped gift of a film. An academy award-winning actor neatly completes and nearly steals all his scenes. An actress we've watched grow make a deliciously druggily drowsy free spirit while losing none of her sweetness. And the wonderfully understated performances of our romantic duo as our hero takes the steps to starting his life anew as an adult. Watch this film. There is a slight lull before the end, but it all ties up. Enjoy
Growing pains, aren't they lovely?

Mr. Pitt steps forward while Angelina stands in his shadow

And so, my children:
Here is a fine example of how the celebrity spin can enrich lives: Brad Pitt, on top of the world as a new Father and award winner at the Venice Film Festival, is truly enjoying the fruits of his labor in every field. The Five Points of Happiness? He certainly seems to have them all rounded up. And he does the give-back thing well, too, with his partner in 'Brangelina', Angelina Jolie. I'm sorry, Will. In my present frame of mind, I can't slam Angelina for not ever getting nominated for a best actress role. There's just too much happiness and goodness going on here.If it weren't for the tattoos and the nudity, this would be just like Frankie Valli and Annette Funicello. Of course, these two are beyond just cute. Poster-picture perfect for social responsibility.Able to relate to a wide demographic. And damn, they're easy on the eyes.

Michael Jackson and MTV

First off, let me say this: I think it is fabulous that MTV is working to get this man on their awards show. I was peeking at this blog www.celebwarship.com and just about got sick at yet another catshow of 'Let's Dis Michael'. Who's coming up with the most cutting remark? It seems to me they were looking to gather attention to pad their Google Adsense account. I don't know why I even am putting a link to their blog in this post. Maybe it's because somehow they received a front-page billing on Technorati, and I admit I am jealous.
Here is a pic of Michael and Michael Sr. I think it shows Michael's willingness to forgive his father for all the cruelties of his youth. I do wonder, however, if they planned the red tie/red suit thing....When I get home, I plan on posting the infamous questionnaire and top ten list in an attempt to jump on the blogging bandwagon and receive my fair share of being ignored.
