Well, here we have Amy Winehouse. Talented, self-destructive, your heart just has to go out to her. Will she survive long enough to rise above her demons? Who knows?

From where I sit, this is what most artists face: that phase when they have to tear themselves apart to be better, to re-organise the pieces and look at them again and again. Sometimes, we can't look, or we get lost in the looking....
Or, on the other side of that coin, you could say we get too self-absorbed. But that's cold.
So, in the long run, we watch and wait. We see the fluttered brilliance of massive talent; and then we see the bird flutter and fall. I send to Amy Winehouse what strength and love I can spare.A As for the rest, we shall see.
