Cheryl Burke

I know that my students have been waiting for this, so....

Cheryl Burke....talented, fortunate, good-looking-

WAIT A MINUTE.

I remember judging this girl in dance competition when she was a junior, and watching her change as a dancer. I remember when she had hair to her waist and a large behind. I remember seeing her in rehearsal when she was at that mid-teen age when we listen to nobody. At least, not most of us.
And now she has achieved a success many others of us in the industry won't know. Face recognition on a large scale. Talent and timing have paid off for her. She has now a large studio here in The City that gets a lot of instructor traffic. Even I have been astonished as to the number of faces I don't recognize that call themselves pros. It's a good thing to see.
Success like this can be an industry-changing thing on many levels. I'm all for our industry rising to the occasion. You go, girl, and may you and those who also enjoy the laurels of this sort show us the way forward.
